Default My Underwater Video's

Hey everybody, I'm new here and love it already, but I thought I would show you some what I do in my other main hobby besides fishing.

I've been snorkeling and fishing for most of my life but only recently I have taken both of them to a new (and more expensive) level. About a year ago I bought a Canon digital point and shoot camera and a matching underwater housing, and now I have been creating and editing some simple underwater video's in the lake's I've been snorkeling. Since these two hobbies go hand in hand for me I thought I would share some of the video's with you guys.

Here's a link to my YouTube Channel, there are some interesting and unique things in each video so watch them all if you can.

Watch them in HD!

I think there is a great advantage to mixing the two hobbies, I frequently do recon snorkeling to find the structure and areas were the fish are hiding and/or feeding. I can also watch the behavior of the bass and scout out what the local forage is and how it's behaving.

I'd love to hear any comments or questions if you have them!!

-Kurt

Great videos man , i kept waiting for one of those bass to inhale something and I am surprised they didn't move out with you that close to them . Being in the water must be your second nature . Again great videos

Actually, in the 1st Indian Lake video, there is a part where I scare crawfish, and when it swims away it gets hit hard by a LM, he didn't eat it, just bit it really hard. I moved to slow to catch it on the camera, but you can see the LM stretch it's mouth after the bite.

Most people would be surprised at how curious fish are of me. If I move slow and breathe slow, most fish will actually swim right up to me to check me out. I often have bluegill nibbling on my leg hair and biting my wedding ring and the chrome ring on my watch. I've even been bit in the nipple by bluegill on two separate occasions, one of the times it was bleeding!

You couldn't be more right! And I'm a passionate freshwater aquarium keeper, so I can get my water fix anytime I want.

Like the Keys video. That's one of my favorite places in the world!

Pretty cool, Kurt!

I used to scuba dive and scouted fish the same way. If you like snorkeling you will love having a tank on your back and not having to come up for air every few minutes.

I've actually done a few intro dives before and I loved it, but I'm waiting till I have a bit more money around for the training and gear.

I can freedive comfortably to 30ft or so and that allows me to see 95% of what I want to see in inland freshwater lakes.
