Default college football time gang

ok, everyone knows who i root for. my question is.....how is oyur team looking this year? tell me what you think about the upcoming season. who you think (SERIOUSLY NOW) has a good chance of winning season, conference, or going all the way. i don't want to hear aobut how bad someone is gonna get whupped. i want real honest opions here ok?
now do i think bama will repeat? no, i htink we will win the S E C. but i think we are gonna lose a game somewhere this year. bama is hurting on defense this year in my opion. hope i am wrong, but the signs show we are rebuilding on the defense. and defense wins championships i think.
so tell what you all truly think about your favorite team. season ain't far away, so let the talk get started.

I am a Kentucky Wildcat man, and am kinda nervous about our new coach. Even when we were winning killer games I just couldnt believe some of the bad play calling he did as teh offensive coordinator. I honesty hope he is better at being a head coach than running an offense....

As for my pick... yes Bama wins SEC

I am a Kansas Jayhawk, but with Turner Gill in his first year here it will be interesting. KU is not a football powerhouse but I enjoy watching them. The Nebraska Cornhuskers are my pick to watch, Bo and Carl Pelini have done great things with the program there.

My pick...Nebraska! Not just because I've been a Husker fan since before I could walk, but because I really think we will have another solid defense, and a pretty darn good offense.

GO HOKIES!!!! For a change Tech's offense is going to be good and the defense is young. So the hope is the O controlls the ball and clock and keeps the D fresh and fast. The kicking game pretty much sucks right now. I see an ACC title and a nice bowl game.

As an Alumni of UVA, come on NFL season!

We have many other great traits...Football just isn't one of them.

It's going to be an interresting year for sure. I would have layed bets on USC but thats off now. I wouldnt be suprised to see Alabama take it all again. A lot of teams are rebuilding and in transition this year. Look for Texas to be tough as usual and I expect to see a resurgent Miami team. I REALLY hate Miami!!! LOL Myself, I live and breath for Notre Dame, which has seen it's better days. I have a lot of faith however in their new coach Brian Kelly. He's a proven winner at the collegiate level, he's a strong motivator, runs a much tougher camp than Charley did, and is surrounding himself with quality coaches. ND starts the season with Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State and Standford. Thats a pretty rough way to start your season. Most of the top ranked teams play patsies the first couple weeks of the season. If the Irish can start out 4-0, then I think we can get into a bowl. Realistically, I see the Irish going 8-4 this year.

I just think OSU is gonna be the team to beat this year. They have one of the best QB's in the country in Terelle Pryor. And a great offense and defense surrounds him. I dont care what people say about OSU floppin in bowl games against SEC teams. OSU is goin for the gold baby!

ok, i like what oyu are saying now cavs. i agree about your qb, one of the best out there today. might even be a heisman winner. as for the defense.............kinda iffy in my opion. but better than bama's i think cause we lost so many. thanks for the input pal.

For those that are new, I am also part of the bassfishin.com alabama mafia....roll tide....

I think I would watch out for LSU to be much better than people are thinking. That QB has some experience, they have athletes all over, and they have plenty of motivation with people downplaying their chances. Even with a questionable coach, that extra bit of motivation can help a loaded team get to where it needs to be (auburn 04 is a good example, that was a year after TT was almost fired, the team was pissed and worked thier way to a great year)

Nebraska is also a popular pick. Sometimes I shy away from popular picks. If all the players were old pros, or if they played and practiced in a media vaccum, it would be one thing, but they positive hype can sometimes really derail a year, and the negative can concerns can fuel teams to places you didnt think possible.

i agree about LSU billy, they will be the team to beat in the west fro us. but we will win i htink. now the team that scares me in the east is georgia and of course florida.
as for nebraska...........they will have a decent year i think but not a championship year. they will get close though. ohio state will be in the top 5. but i just got a feeling that a team outta the west (NOT USC) wi8ll be the cinderella team. gonna look long and hard a PITT too. they got a good program going up there. now who outta the west coast is the team to look out for? maybe oragon state? hmmm interesting i think.

I'm no Nebraska fan, but being my wifes family is from Nebraska, I have to be nice, lol. This year will be a challenge for Nebraska as they finally have a pretty challenging schedule, something they don't usually have. It can only make them a better team. I look for them to get upset though early on in the season, and I think Idaho and Kansas State could give them a scare.

Well, I'm a Penn State Nittany Lion now, so naturally that's who I'll be rooting for this year. I don't know how the defensive line will be, we will miss Odrick. Royster should have himself a ncie year running the ball though. quite a few question marks, i think we are ranked 4th in the big ten. But paterno's 400th win comes this year, which should be a ton of fun.

My Auburn Tigers have added depth across the board with a more mobile QB. If we can stave off the injury bug we could have a good season. All Senior offensive line helps too.

Hey Bama, looks like those boys wearing Crimson have their AD wrapped up in a nice package for the future. I have a feeling the Tide is back and planning to stay there. My dad would be pleased. He was a HUGE Tide fan. Not sure why with his being from up here, lol. But he was also a big Purdue fan, which I always found VERY distastefull!!!

I'm an IU fan yet more proof of being a born loser!! LOL at least if we ever do win I cant be accused of jumping on the band wagon....I have several losing season tickets to prove it...lol. I think in the big 10 either Ohio st. if the qb dosent get hurt otherwise they can hang it up.Maybe Penn st. wins the big 10?

AD Mal Moore did get a contract extension and will be hanging around. He had been close to retiring for years on account of his wife's health, and sadly she passed not long ago of dementia. But now it looks like Mal will be our AD for many more years.

If he ever wanted to, he could put a national title ring on all his fingers excluding thumbs. He might have more rings than any man in existence.

well wtl......i might upset oyu here bro, but i really don't like ol mal. think he is past retirement time myself. BUT he has saved the program with the hiring of saban. he has done enough to earn himself hall of fame honors. i give credit where it is due, but still would like to see some one else in there.

GO GATORS! Games are won by the guys up front. UF has a great O line returning, have proven running backs and Brantley has a NFL arm. He has some incredibly large shoes to fill by replacing TEBOW, but I think he is well prepared. UF defense is pretty stout. Looking at the schedule they have a run in the middle of the schedule that is going to be a test. We play Bama @ Bama, that should be the game of the season. I think that game will decide SEC championship and be a very good indicator for the BCS Champ. As always, LSU can play spoiler, they have a lot of talent and are being labeled as underdogs. SC and Miss. St are up and coming. Not sure Georgia is ready to be a threat yet. Miami is gonna be a top 5 team this year, FSU is gonna be top 10. OSU is good, I don't think Pryor is as good as everybody thinks. Texas is always tough and should stay in the hunt. Still have to watch for this years surprises Utah, TCU, Boise. Every year 1-2 smaller non BCS teams make a good run and knock off a contender. Not sure who it will be this year. I still feel the SEC is going to be the dominant force again this year. I think the PAC 10 is out for a few years. Im feeling another Big 12- SEC championship game is coming. As usual "IT'S GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR"!

i agree with everything oyu said hoseman. BUT let me say this gang. i don't THINK there will be an undefeated team winning the whole shebang this year. a 1 or even 2 loss team could get it this time. and then the talks of a playoff will surface again.

oh yeah.........florida is still 2nd to bama, BWAAAHAHAHAHAHA! kidding of course. i think bama-fla will play for the title again.
