Default It wasn't easy, but i did the right thing.

This summer i've been putting all my extra cash into remaking an old jon boat i bought in june. I haven't bought any new fishing gear the whole summer, and i was running low on soft plastics and whatnot. So i got my last paycheck and it had some overtime hours on it so i figured i'd put 50$ aside and stock up the tackle box.

Aside from ordering 5 bags of soft plastics, a couple swimbaits, fresh line, and some terminal tackle, I also bought a tub of carpet glue for the boat, which was the next project coming up on the boat. I ordered from Cabelas like I always do becuase I've never had a problem with them. They have great products and the best customer service.

After only 3 days my package came in the mail. It felt a little damp n the outside... hmm... lets see here. I opened it up and the gallon tub of carpet glue must have cracked or the seal broke, because glue was all through my package and made an awfully big mess. I was pretty dissappointed, but luckily, Cabelas put all my fishing baits and gear in a seperate bag so everything was unharmed.

The next day i called up Cabelas hoping to get a refund on the gallon of glue. I explained what happened and they said "Ok thats not a problem at all, you dont even have to return it, we'll send you a new tub of glue and all the fishing items for free." ..... so what do you do? nod your head and say "ok"? .... not quite, it was tough (with bait monkey on my back), I said... "no thank you, all i need is the glue returned, the fishing stuff was unharmed". I felt pretty darn good about myself. THEN, she said "are you suuuure??? we can do it..." UGH WAS SHE MAKING THIS TOUGH!!!! I still denied her offer, and Cabelas sent me a new tub of glue that was unharmed.

I respect Cabela's amazing customer service because they respect me.... they better damn respect me after that! I would love to have double the bait and tackle... but it just wouldn't feel the same fishing with it. Thats my story about doing the right thing.

And BTW... Cabelas Customer Service.... You call... it rings once.... and an actual person picks up! WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH!!!!

That is the true test of character... be proud of yourself... you did what was right when 99% of teh population would have just let her send you some new stuff... i sure hope i have the character to act the same way in teh same situation.

You did the right thing for sure, and good for you. Very few people would have done what you did and you should be proud of that!

That was a really good thing you did. The good luck should come to you for this and I hope the baits you did get catch 5 times the amount of fish the others would have.

Cabelas does have the greatest customer service I believe and I commend you.

That's one of my favorite quotes of all time, right behind, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

Awesome! Cabelas truly does the best customer service in the industry IMO! Never had a single problem with them, the chat is also very useful too!
