I was wondering what the best size trailer hooks are for 1/4-1/2oz spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Would it be 1/0, 2/0, or 3/0. I've been getting short strikes and want to buy some trailer hooks but don't know what size is best. Thanks

for buzz baits i like 3/0 but for spinner baits i rarely use them. try shorting the skirt some it moves the profile forward makes them hit closer to the front.

2/0 or 3/0 should be fine. I use 2/0 on my 1/4 oz. SBs, but could easily move up a size.

I never have worried about what size trailer hook I use-the thing I look for is the eye of the hook is big enough for the point of the main hook to go through it. That usually matches up the hook size quite nicely.

Thats what i look for too reb...because dif. spinnebaits have dif. size barbs and the trailer has to have an eye that is big enough to go over the barb and then a keeper piece of clear tubing about a 1/16 on an inch keeps it from comming off the spinnerbait hook
