Do you still own the gold standard of 30 years ago. Pistol grip rod 5'-6"? I do and I would still use it today in certain situations. Loved the old pistol grips.

I've got one that's a good 20 years old, but it's a freakishly long six footer! I use it to throw spinnerbaits when I need a pinpoint cast.

I have one. I think it's the best way to learn how to cast a baitcaster.

I have 2 of the old Lew's fiberglass Speed Sticks from late 70's to early 80's. They are the best crankbait rods I have ever used. Had a ideal to take them to a custom rod builder here and see if he could put a trigger grip on them. Also have a Speed Stick spining rod which goes with me every time I go fishing.

I have three of em. Still use em for shallow-medium crankin, surface prop baits, poppin baits, and walkin the dog.
And that is all my Dad fishes with to this day. he has a whole boat load of em, and when he bought a bew crankin stick at BPS last year... he got another pistol grip. He says he just doesnt like long handles on his rods... he has 1 casting rod that is a 7'6" Heavy flippin stick... everything else is pistol grip... |

I have a BPS Spiral Graphite rod. Pistol grip, 6', medium power that I bought new in 1988. I still use it as my topwater rod. You can make a Spook walk with it like no other.

I've got a couple. One Diawa that's a 6' two piece made of fiberglass (30 years old) and a Shimano Bantam (tip busted but got it repaired so it's about 5') that I've matched with a Ryobi baitcasting reel. Old School!!

I did have about 10 of them mostly kept in storage, but sold 7 of them this summer. Kept the ones I liked. They are very usefull for casting off the bank under overhanging tree branches!

Gonna have to replace mine soon. It's started to "creak" when I cast. I'm afraid the locking foregrip is cracking...
