Default Kiss Deadliest Catch Good Bye...

The Hillstrand brothers and Sig Hansen have quit the show. This means no more Time Bandit and Northwestern.

The Hillstrands quit because Discovery Channel is suing them for $3 million. Apparently, they refused to finish some spin-off show.

Sounds bad, but I have a feeling when it is all said and done, we will find out they were "asked" to do something unsafe or unethical. Otherwise, why would an uninvolved party, Hansen, have taken their side to the point of leaving as well?

Oh well...it looks like the on-camera drama has spilled out into the real world, and my favorite show is headed for the crapper. Tuesday nights will be a little more boring now.

Nofear,
I saw that yesterday. It is a sad time for all the deadlist catch fans.

Yeah, I saw that the other day. From what I gather, Discovery was filming a spin-off of Deadliest Catch....kind of a "What they do when they're not crab fishing" documentary thing. They filmed all the "action" shots, but the Hillstrands didn't sit down and do the interview parts they apparently had agreed to do. That's what Discovery is contending, anyway.
And I agree...it's not going to be the same without the Time Bandit and the Northwestern. Those two were by far the most interesting boats to me.

Come to Singapore with me and I can show you where to catch something deadly. That sucks though, I really did enjoy it. And Sr vs Jr is killing OCC. All the good man shows are bombing. Bunch of politically correct crap. You always have to ruin my day NFE hahahaha

I dont know what Discovery is thinking. That were my two favorite boats after the Cornelia Marie. They have lost the 3 best captains I dont see it happening.

This Sr vs Jr thing is awful. The worst part is that it just shows how much an a$$ Sr is. I have no respect for him what so ever.

I seen that the other day as well. I also watch SR. vs. JR. and I agree SR has some issues. I actually dislike all of his employees as well. I do however like JR and his crew , but he needs a fabricator full time , pretty bad...

Having met both Paul and Paul Jr away from the cameras and crowds.... most of the drama is fabricated for TV...

And as for deadliset catch... well i lost interest 2 seasons ago...

As for good news in education television.... Top Gear is finally coming to america... History channel has made an american version that doesnt require watching the BBC to get good automotive entertainment...

There is always Gangland to fall back on. I have been practicing all my gang signs. It builds finger dexterity and helps with tying knots.

Pawn Stars and Pickers have been doing it for me. Since I live here I have been in the Pawn Shop before it was famous. It's a tiny place maybe 800sf. They did ad on to it. We had someone come to town that wanted to go see it and the line is out the door. We did get to see all four and got our shirts and pictures signed.

Other than that I have always like the little 30 min "How it's made" shows. Overall TV kinda sucks at the moment. More the same ole same old and once someone comes up with something that works for TV then all the others copy.

Oh well...there's always something in the wings like Swordfish or Lobster Men. Who knows, Tuna Catch, Flounder Bounder, Haddock Paddock....As long as commercial fishing is the most dangerous job, there's likely to be some reality show covering it for some time to come - ?

Btw, I quite liked Deadliest Catch too. I thought for sure Phil Harris was gonna make it....but he sure was a chain smoker...seems like every scene he was in he was smoking or lighting up. (Sure glad I quit years ago!)
