buzzbaits/ calm vs waves

I've basically only thrown them on calm waters. Lately though I've seen and read about choppy water and buzzbaits. What in your opinion or experience works better for you, calm or waves?

Last week it was super super windy and i was catching bass on spinnerbaits. They didn't hit real hard but i caught 4 small bass.

I know you did say buzzbaits, but i didn't use a buzzbait that day

Use the Buzzbait anytime. It will work, with black ice water, and also with the whitecaps. Throw it anytime.

I actually prefer to have some "chop" on the water.

I definetly like a chop to the water, on a calm
day "sheet of glass" type appearance type day, I think they get to good of a look at it IMO

I prefer a little chop on the water but I'll throw it on calm water too- especially if you have emergent cover.

I've found they work in both also...but it's more in how you work them in each that makes the difference. I've noticed to get strikes on flat water I have to really change the way I work it than when I'm on chopy or even rippled water. I also use a smaller buzzbait on calm water but buzzbaits will work equally well in general on both choppy and calm water

I really like to rip the buzzbait on windy days,
Just reel it in as usual and every now and then pull
hard to get a dif. sound out of the blade and also bubble trail.

Has anyone experimented with the blades that leave more bubbles than others? I have see round diameter holes and also small hearts in the 3 sided blade on a buzzbait
I also have one for ky. river fish..its a 2 prop buzzbait with bucktail for skirt
the two blades are spread out just like a airplane design
one turns left, one turns right for a slow presentation.
I've caught some fish at the pond but never made any money off of it lol..its a novelity that takes up a lot of space in the tackle box.
I'll still go with the traditional white buzzbait with one blade anytime.
Its always a good idea to carry a smaller size buzz bait, like a 4 inch one, alot of times with current they will take one over the other, when they pull water here on the ohio river i like the smaller buzz bait over the big size..
plus you can keep in touch with the forage size depending on the time of year

Just read that lizards. Thanks for the re-direction. Just looking for the answer. Thought I was losing it for a second there. Whew!!!

As for a buzz bait, "again", I prefer to use it exclusively in slick water vs. a slight chop. When that arises I always like a spook (if we're talking about on top). Otherwise a spinnerbait is always trumps in the chop. One thing I have noticed is that buzzbaits, IMO, produce bigger fish. I love slicing up the corners of docks early in summer tournies to find the big ones still hanging around from their nightly shallow feed.
