Welcome to the forum, Wes!
Post-frontal is the toughest time to catch fish-downsize, fosh tighter and fish slow is about all I can tell you. |

Re: Tactics for cold fronts
throw a jointed bait slower retrive rate. drag a spinner bait thru brush piles. dead sticking often will produce many hits at this time of year.

Re: Tactics for cold fronts
Wes, I feel your pain. Dang cold fronts keep rolling throuhg every fe days turning the fish off. I've had the best luck throwing small spinnerbairs like the strike king mini king, and deadsticking junebug senkos around downed trees and brush (not too hard to find nowadays.) But I know what you mean, fishing hasn't been that great lately.

Yeah, from here in the frozen tundra, I too feel your pain. What happened? Did it go from 85° to 75°? ;D |

Re: Tactics for cold fronts
Most important thing, i believe as others have said also is fish slow. The bass won't move as quick in cold weather.

Re: Tactics for cold fronts
don't know if this'll work down there.but i go to the first dropoff.try different baits till you find what they want.2 good starting points are 4" worms(any color as long as it's red shad)and spinnerbaits.

Re: Tactics for cold fronts
I am having the same problem here in Washington state, and the fishing has been slow here also, and the weather is much colder then down in florida, I have been catching a few, nothing real big the biggest so far was around 5 pounds and the rest were from 2-3 pounds we are normally catching good pre spawners right now but this weather is just terrible, its like you are saying every week for about 3-4 days it is crappy and for a couple it starts to warm up then bam anouther storm ??? I caught mine on lizards and big 5 inch grubs.
