Default nick (nick in reel)

i have one of the new daiwa fuegos and as you should already now both of its side plates are colored red. Well, i was at my grammys the other day and i cought this big carp and he thrashed and nocked my reel over, long story short i now have an L shaped gash in my reel and it looks like the paint is gonna chip.Well, i tried to chip it and it wont but what i want to now from you guys is if you think it will in the future you now from old age and extended use and if so is there anything i can do to prevent this from happening!

thanX ahead of time

im not sure what you could do, but if it only affects the apperence, why worry about it. i have fished with some ugly reels. i dont care what they look like as long as they work. but im not sure what you can do.

It will eventually chip, but in the meantime you could put a coat of clear nail polish over it. This will seal out most contaminants. 8)

1. Pay closer attention.
2. Don't worry about it. Stuff is gonna get beat up a little through normal use.
3. stop fishing for carp ;D

in fact it holds quite a bit of line 140\12 and 120\14 more than alot of reels its size and its drag system IMO is the best in the world it is so smooth it is like silk and if you tried the reel for a month i can garentee that you will trade in all of your reels to get them!

If it's only a surface problem, just use it, not for carp.

I will not lie the the daiwas are not the smoothest in the world but they are powerfull and will bring any fish to the boat (incudeing the 10.3lb carp i cought)

P.s. the smoothest reel i have ever used is the new shimano chronarch100 that is soooooooooo smooth. ;D
