Back in August I got an email from Texas Parks and Wildlife. Asking if I could make a contribution to a fundraiser for the Texas Chapter of the American Fisheries Society...They have a show in Feb.and wanted a custom rod to raffle off to raise money for college scholarships for students wanting degrees in wildlife.(If I remember right)
It took awhile obviously,But I built this rod for them...A micro MHX-MB843 (I think its an 843,hell I cant remember,lol....Yea its a 843. I wanted to do a cross wrap on it,since I havent done one in awhile, and I wanted to try something different. But I wanted to hide the tie offs...I think it looks really clean that way...I dig the colors on this alot..Almost anything compliments grey/black..You'll see more of this in the future,Im sure It gets delivered monday...Hopefully Ill get a pic of the winner with the rod..I think that'll be sweet to hang in the rod room...Next to my collection of Seagourney Weaver photos. ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Dude!!! That looks amazing! I think this is by far my favorite rod of yours. The cross wrap looks super clean, I love the hidden tie offs! The logos look great too. Fantastic!!

Dude.....your wrapping skills are just getting sick. I particularly love the little cuts of red you put in the cross wraps. Subtle touch.

haha!.Thanks guys
Bryce, whats funny is on the cross wrap...I was just wrapping with no plan..I knew I wanted to do a fade with four shades of grey into black....I cut alot of it back off and almost took the red/orange touches out as well...But when turned sideways,I thought it looked kinda cool,so I left it. Joe,Im real happy with how it came out too!..The only issue with the hidden tie offs..Is the grips developed a small bulge when they slide over it..So I had to shape em more to compensate and get them uniformed..Not bad, just something I didnt think about when I did it...Live and learn Putting on 4 decals was a little scary...I didnt know how I was gonna get my logo on there...Tiny! But I like that little texas decal

Very nice work, both design and weave. Non-builders can't fully appreciate the time and patience weaving takes.
