Default Gloomis SBR 753

I plan to do more jerk bait fishing using a cranking reel. I am looking at gloom is smallmouth 6'3" rod 1/4-5/8 oz used with a Curado d 201. Any thoughts. Till this point always used spinning reels, but enjoy crank bait reels and plan to use ceramic bearings as an upgrade to the Curado. Comments or suggestions please.

I have one but I think it is the SBR752, I'll have to look in the boat tomorrow to be sure. It is a very light powered rod and I don't think that it will handle baits such as Pointer 100s, or anything 1/2 oz. or over. I have a BPS Carbonlite reel on it and use it for Pointer 78s and topwater. I think that you will be fine since that one is a MH. My #1 jerkbait rod is a 6'6" Medium Crucial and I use braid on it. For the reel it is personal preference but I like a smaller, ligher reel than the Curado since you will be constantly moving it.
