ok..i went for a couple of hours this morning.
yes, i went fishing this morning. lisa and i went to g'ville. the MAIN reason was to try out my new (used) trolling motor i got thanks to mississippiboy finding it for me. and he helped me get it through paypal or whatever way he did it,lol. thak you so very much daniel!!! i spent ALL day saturday working on the RAJUN CAJUN. most of it was trying to get my bilge float operating, which i didn't by the way.
got the troller hooked up and it is good to go. i need to greese the cables though, it is stiff. i guess it is from sitting for wuite a while. but works fine. i thought i would notice a HUGE difference in power, but it didn't really feel that way. maybe it is because of the high winds? or current? but at any rate the speed is not faster than what i had (56#thrust). it didn't JOLT me at all is what i am trying to say. smooth cruising is the best way to describe it. i love the "constant" switch it has. used it alot to see how i would like it andi LOVE it. didn't really do a lot of actual fishing. nothing was biting anyway and no one i saw out there was getting any bites either. they were running up and down the river so much too. that is one way to tell if they are biting i have found. when you see the same boat go by 3 times, fishing is SLOW,lol. so i guess i ahve a lot of work still to do on the ol rig. one thing is i have GOT to figure out what is wron with my console fish finder. got power, jsut blinks on and shuts down. fuse was blown and i put in another one, haven't checke dit since. and this is what is weird, it has a 15 amp MAIN fuse on the box. then the wire that runs to it (unit) has a 3 amp fuse in-line to the unit. but the 15 amp fuse blew. WTH? i'll re-wire the whole thing if i can and see if maybe the unit is kaput. so till next time i guess gang. still a littel early i think for the big bites. might try weiss tomorrow.

Glad to hear you were able to get out John. And while this does make my cabin fever worse, it's not as bad as some of those guys who got out AND caught fish!

At least you got out on the lake. I don't know what size of trolling motor you bought but I know where there is a 101lb thrust that had you bought, it would have gave you tons of power. As for the graph, I really have no clue but it makes me wonder if your graph isn't going bad on you.

thanks gang...it felt good to float on woft ground a bit, lol.
boogieman, i thought so too. but after crawling underneath, i couldn't see anything else going to it at the fuse panel. but i am gonna dig deeper. may jsut re-run the wires myself if i can. that way i will know if it is the unit and not the wiring. if it's the unit......i'll be down to just the front one cuz i can't afford to buy a fishfinder this year. i hope it is just the wiring.
