got a shakesphere anti backlash reel
filled the reel with line set the anti backlash.. went to miami white water forest cast my lure not one backlash, bass pro shops has one for $80 might pick it up

I can set all my reels so they never backlash.

It's funny because on BPS's website it looks like it already has started to overrun:
And it looks like they are $40 at BPS. I don't know how they work but I bet your casting distance is greatly reduced. If it were as simple as this to keep great casting distance and not backlash I don't think Shimano would have their DC series of reels that cost $600+ to do the same job. That said, I sure wish I had one yesterday when casting a 1/4 oz. Speed Trap into 25MPH winds. |

The Dick's Sporting Goods near me has one of those Shakespear "Anti-Backlash" reels, upon closer inspection, the blue bar on the top of the reel locks into place just a fraction of an inch above the line. That is suppose to be the "Anti-Backlash" part of the reel.
