I have a slight issue right now.I have a small Bass Tracker with a 25hp outboard. I am about to install my new Side Imaging unit and notice the outboard sits 3" from the back of my boat. I also noticed that the outboard mount has a shaft the locks the outboard in position , and I can move that shaft therby changing the tilt of the motor. Ever since I owned the boat it has been set so the outboard is litterly straight up and down. Now , I am going to have to change this in order for my transducer to function properly. What will happen when I change the angle of my outboard so that the top of the motor is more towrds the inside of my boat? I had planned on upgrading my boat in a year or two , but I cant do it now so I need some advice. I guess a jack plate would help , but I sure dont want to spend alot on a boat I am not going to keep.

So you need more room between the lower part of the motor and the transom, so you'll tilt it away from the boat, widening that gap? Am I following you?
If so, then you'll probably notice the bow of the boat riding higher than before, maybe a little longer coming out of the hole, a little higher "rooster tail." Then again, that adjustment might be better for your boat...you may get better speed/holeshot/overall performance. There's no way to tell until you try.

Yeah , bama it sure is. I think he is still mad because I teased him last fall about getting a new one. Then I decided to buy fish finders and such that I can switch over to a new boat and put the boat off for another year. I like my boat , but it isnt a good bass boat..
