Man the air temp was warmer but the water was extremely cold. I fished for about hour and a half and got one fish on a lipless crank. The water was super muddy because of the two inches of rain we just got so I was really happy with getting this fish. I missed one last week so it felt good getting this one even though it was not that big. I guess I should be happy because I am usually not fishing this early anyway because the lakes are usually frozen or just in the process of thawing.
Here is the first fish of a new season: ![]() Here was the water color. The picture really does not show how brown the water was. ![]()

Cold water fishing can be a real challenge, and when the water gets muddy it makes it even tougher. Congrats on getting the first fish of the season out of the way!

Congrats on the nice bass. My pond is still half frozen. Muddy as chocolate milk. Just getting over a bad cold so I didn't fish. Maybe next warm spell. Going from the 50's down to the low 20's tonight.
