New Setup!
So, it is about spring time again and about time to get a new rod and reel .
I've had my eyes on the new Skeet Reese baitcasting reel and Tessara rods for months now and the Gander mountain paper came in the other day and the Tessara rods are like 30 bucks off the original price of 90 dollars; come on 60 bucks for one of these rods ya just can't go wrong . So, I was wondering what you guys think of these rods and reels, and if anyone else is getting a new set up for themselves this spring. Oh, by the way, The two rods I have been looking at are the "Spinnerbait/worm" rod and the "Jerkbait/topwater" rod. Leaning towards the spinnerbait/worm rod. |

BBB I almost bought one the other day. I was lookiong at the micro spinning but went with a veritas instead. I got the veritas to match the revo reel. I'd give em a shot if I was gonna pull the trigger again though.

I found it very interesting to see Brent Chapman using them in the Classic. I kind of felt bad for the guy having a deck full of Skeet rods and reels and Skeet himself fishing close by.

I guess I will be "that guy" today. I just never liked the Skeet Rods. I havent handles the reels, but the rods just seem like holding a telephone pole. I will give em points for looking cool though. I get sick of the same old black, green, or dark red rods. Quantum makes a Shaw Grigsby model rod, i want a whole collection of rods that color blue.

BassinBandit has one of the spinnerbait/worm rods and loves it. He also has one of them 42' long (really just 7'10") cranbait rods he hasn't used alot yet.

Probly going to gander mountain this monday to pick up the rod and reel (i looked in the paper a little closer and saw the reels were 40 bucks off so gonna pick one of those up as well) The price of this stuff and the money I have, fits perfectly.

Keep in mind that the price they show includes a send in rebate, so you will have to pay closer to the original price up front.
