BASS Marshall Program
BASS posted the pairings list this morning for the Citrus Slam in Florida. It looks like they are short a few Marshals. I wish they would come north, I would do it in a minute for $100.

That sucks for them. Should have thought that out when they eliminated the co-angler from the mix.

I know it was a controversial move by BASS to remove the Co-Angler, but I liked it.

I wish I could sit with Braurer or Grigsby and get some stache tips. Mine just won't come in like it should. Maybe they would have some tips and techniques. On a serious note, this is a bucket list item and I have plans on doing it in 2012.

This is one of my prime motivators for joining BASS... may be moving to TX soon and think it would be awesome to Marshal on Falcon or Amistad...

In a nutshell the marshal is an observer, which is basically a tool to make sure all rules are followed by their pros. However they also get a lot of teaching from the pros throughout the day. On top of all this information they are given a bunch of goodies such as hats and shirts and the value really exceeds price the marshal pays to sign up. So most guys look at it like they are paying for the hats and shirts and get to spend 2 or 3 days riding around and learning first hand from top pros as a bonus. I know of several people who have done it and none of them were unhappy with the experience. One of my tourney partners did it and rode around with Skeet Reese 2 days in a row. Skeet finished second that tournament and caught all of his fish on a jig, when the tournament was over he gave my buddy the jig he used which was sort of an unusual color (and yes I duplicated the color perfectly for my own jigs lol).

I think you would learn 100x more from watching and not fishing than from being a co angler. I think the empties in FL are because they know it will be a sight fishing affair (pretty boring). But you would learn location and how to stalk from a pro......could be good....
