Default Ever jerked till it hurts?

I never thought I would see the day, that if I was catching fish get to tired to fish anymore. But after using a jerkbait for 5 or 6 soild hours Sat. I think I was too tired and sore to fish any more. My casting went down hill (dis. and acc.), my jerk, jerk, jerk pause became jerk, paaaauuuusssseeee, with no snap to it. But why put down a something is working, I tried a jig for a few minutes but went back to the jerkbait. My elbow and shoulder are still sore (I know -BIG BABY). But guess what I'm going to be doing this weekend, you got it ---JERKING.

Just a couple hours can really wear you out. Thats why it's so important for bass fisherman to do lots of arm curls with the beverage of their choice.

I threw a jerkbait all day in our tournament Saturday. I hate jerkbaits, and part of the reason is because of how much work they are to fish. I usually end up with my forearm cramping up after a few hours of fishing them. Saturday I made myself fish it all day and to my suprise I wasn't sore at all afterwards. But I know exactly how you feel, and it's no fun.

I get tired too, that's why I went with the lightest rig I could. 6'6" Shimano Crucial with a short handle and I used a Chronarch MG50 for several years until I got a Lew's Tournament Pro lefty this spring. A 6'3" Loomis Bronzeback with a BPS Carbonlite is my backup, both with braid since the rods are a little wimpy. It'll wear you out but I love it when they are really eating it. Talking about this is making me antsy about hitting the Mile Roads on Saint Clair this spring!

I hear findinga cute girl to do the jerkin for you keeps you from gettin so tired. Its just hard to get the rod out of her hand when there is a big one on the line.

lol gotta love the perverted thread titles on this forum!

Never fished a jerkbait long enough to tired. But I've fished a 1 spook for 3 hours and started to sweat a bit!

Jerking is easier when your rod curves a little to the left...Its more ergonomic in the hand for this technique.
Another idea to eliminate the pain,is to lay on your arm till it falls asleep and try jerking that way.
