Yes IMO a Medium Heavy is the best all around rod for Bass fishing. Â*However I will use specific rods for specific applications. Â*Such as for cranking I like a Medium, with a Moderate action. Â*Everyone has there own favorites.
As for fishing a Lizard, my #1 way is too fish it weightless, t-rigged. Â*My second choice is c-rigging and then 3rd is a weighted t-rigged. Â*As for color, I prefer all black, but any color will work. Â*If I'm sight fishing, a white lizard is hard to beat. Â*If you are already using a color of plastic that works, just buy the same color of lizard. Â*You already know that color works, so your confidence should be high starting off. For an all-around rod it is tough to beat a 6-6 MH action IMO.
I T-rig or C-rig a lizard more than throw weightless, but all will work. I prefer watermelon red flake for color, but as Lizards said, any color will work, and use one you have confidence in. |

what does IMO stand for and what does sight fishing mean? [/quote] IMO = In My Opinion, which we all have ![]() Sight fishing, is basically when you SEE a fish in the water, and try to catch that fish. Mostly it is referred to when folks are going after bedding bass. It's has a lot of controversy with it. Some dislike it immensely, which I understand. However I'd be lying if I said I didn't do it. But it's always a quick release back into the water after a catch of a bedding bass for me. It's also when a bass is bedding, that it will usually be it's heaviest during a year. Lizards |
