Could you all send one up for us?
Fellas could you all say a prayer for Britneys mom. She was in a motorcycle wreck earlier today and broke her scapula (sp?) as well as roughed her face up a bit from trying to eat the pavement. They just transfered her to St. Johns trauma center in Joplin so they can give her pain meds via I.V. She was very lucky that it wasn't any worse than it was, most motorcycle wrecks are worse than this. Britney and her dad aren't taking it too well, I think it's the thought of what could have happened that is bothering them the most. Her dad was on his motorcycle behind her mom when it happened and I can only imagine the terror he went through watching it. She was somewhat new to riding, she used to ride Brits dads bike back in the day but it's been several years since she was on a bike. They bought her a brand new Super Glide a few weeks ago (there was not one minute where I thought to myself "that was a good idea" but what do you do?) Anyways I think that although this is a bad deal, it also is a blessing in disguise because she decided that motorcycles aren't that cool when they are shaped like horseshoes and she is done riding, so this probably prevented a major tragedy later on. So if you guys could say a prayer for Britneys mom and dad I would appreciate. And while you have him on the line please mention that we are very grateful that it wasn't any worse than it was. We are telling him too but it might mean more coming from a better class of liars hahahaha.

You got it Kory, I'll be praying for her buddy!
My dad's been through a few bike accidents back when he used to ride 'em a lot (he raced motocross, so he was pretty wild on 'em, and was good at getting away from the cops, lol).

Prayers sent Kory, glad she's going to be ok.
I know more people who have died on motorcycles than anything else combined. You won't ever catch me on one.

Will be sure to pray for the both of them. Thats a frightening thing to see and experience. My brother and his wife went down on his bike a few years ago. A couple broken bones and scraping gravel from the wounds was all it took for them to sell the bike.

Sorry to hear that, Kory. Motorcycles are indeed dangerous. Prayers on their way.

Kory, Prayers are sent her way.......I wish her a speedy recovery, and I hope she was wearing some safety gear at the time of the crash....Believe you me, I know what it feels like to eat pavement and its no fun.
I've been a biker all my life, and I fully understand the dangers of riding. Unfortunately, one of my petpeves in recent years, is seeing under experienced riders on bikes that are much to big for them to handle. I live in a area where motorcycle riders frequent because of the scenic winding roads thru the mountains, and I see these folks everyday, and it scares the heck outta me everytime I see a woman, or guy for that matter, riding that big ol' Harley or Goldwing, when they can bearly hold the thing upright at the stoplight or navigate slow speed curves smoothly. During the summer not a month goes by that we don't hear the police scanner talking of a rider going down on the curves....Unfortunately most are older folks that used to ride when they were young and now that they are retired they want to rekindle that feeling, but they jump right out there and buy something much bigger then they can handle realisticly.....Sorry for my rant Kory...None of this may apply to your stepmothers accident....I'm just talking outloud. PS, I Just read that May is motorcycle awareness month in our town.....Look twice, save a life.

The ones that get on my nerves are the crotch rocket riders weaving through traffic at 90 miles an hour. I've always said that a large portion of bike accidents could be prevented if the folks in cars would keep in mind that there are bikes that are hard to see. But with those guys, it's just a matter of time. And the drivers of the cars have no time to react.

Guys thanks for all the prayers. My mother in law is at home now. She is in a lot of pain but she is able to get a little sleep with the pain killers. Recovery time is 6-8 weeks so it's going to be a long row to hoe for her but she will be ok. I really had a feeling that it wouldn't be long before something happened that scared her into getting rid of the bike. I told Britney Sunday morning that I was wanting a motorcycle and I figured that if I held out for a few weeks I could probably get a good buy on her moms bike. I will be danged if a few hours later this happened........................Talk about bad timing on a joke lol.
P.s. Britney said there is absolutley no way I am getting a bike, which is ok with me because I really have no interest in having one. I don't need a motorcycle when I can run 75mph on the water haha. |
