Default US reels

Does any one have any US reels? If so how do you like them, do they cast like they advertise ya know, longer more effertless casts, and there does not seem to be to much difference between the super caster 1000, and the super caster 1000 pro. They are looking kinda good to me I am starting to think about buying one, but I wan't to see what guys think of them.

I think eliminating friction at the levelwind is a good idea, but I just can't stand the looks of those things. I just think the reels look very gimmicky. I think you'd be better off to stick with one of the big three: Daiwa, Shimano, Abu Garcia.

Yeah I hate how they look also but if they really do perform that much better like what they say they do then I would buy one and try it out. The big three WHERE'S QUANTUM? Shimano and Abu Garcia are good though

They partnered up with BASS/ABA,at most aba/bass combined events they offer to spool up with line and you test for free, after event can either hand back or buy.
Also get a discount if aba/bass member.Weekend series etc.

I've actually wanted to try out one of these for a long time, but obviously, living in the Dead Zone of Southwestern Indiana, I have no access to them.

I think the level wind is ingenious, though I am skeptical about the reverse rotation spool. If you think of your thumb as a pawl, the problem is obvious. I've never seen a pawl that faced into the direction of rotation. Positive feedback is a real pain.

There you go Anthony I fixed it for you . One of my tournament partners dad has a few of them. I am not sure which model he has but he seems to really like them. I was tempted to by them for my wife when we were building her arsenal up this winter for our tournament season but I was concerned that she might have issues with casting them since she is used to my Revos.

With the reverse rotation on that spool, if a lesser angler were ever to get a backlash, (something I've only read about out here), wouldn't you have more trouble picking at the backlash?

I found one on e-bay for less than half the price of retail over a year ago and i really like it. Casts good, havent had any backlashes, and i've got all the pins pulled out on the centrifugal brake. Just use the up/down adjustment on the levelwind bar.

If all the pins are pulled out, that means all the brakes are on.
