So I was out fishing in the summer heat the other day at a local pond. Caught a few keepers and was ready to call it a day, so I called my wife to come get me. After that I was just killing time thrown a watermelon dinger around the pond and all of a sudden my line takes off sideways. I soon realize I have a nice fish on the other end and fight him half way across a smallish pond. Well I get him up to the bank and Im freaking out cause it was a huge bass. Prob a trophy, but as Im tryin to steady him to pull him up on the bank to grab him my freakin line breaks. I swear I wanted to cry. Anyways I went back out a few days later in 98 degree heat and was rewarded with a nice solid 7 pounder in these pics. Caught him on a pearl super fluke in same pond. My advice for everyone fishing these dog says of summer is to remember to be patient and consistent. its easy to get agitated out there and just cast and reel out of frustration and boredom of no bites. I tried everything, then said I might as well try the super fluke. My buddy has great success with the regular flukes, but with smaller fish. G/L yall
Sorry the pics aint that great, it was hard to take pics with fish in one hand and phone/cam in the the other |
