I saw someone talking about this knot on another forum and quick googled it and found this video salty shores did.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N0mCf0AIAA Now to me, this looks like a pretty strong knot... but I've used it before so can't say for sure. Now, before I switch over from the Alberto knot, I wanna know what you guys think of it? And if anyone anyone has used this knot, any input is appreciated! ![]()

The Sebille knot has only worked for me with 40# and up fluoro/mono . I surf fish a fair amount and am always looking for a better leader knot. maybe I'm doing this wrong...but for freshwater line diameters it does not work. most of my rods.. fresh and light salt have micro guides so a small knot is important. My heavier surf rods still wear larger guides so shock leader connection is not so critical. Try it out and post results please... I'd be interested in how it works for you.

I really don't know why anyone would use anything other than the Alberto knot for braid to fluoro or braid to mono. I have never had a knot failure using the Alberto. It's always the main line that breaks first when I'm forced to break off.

I use the Alberto and only ever have problems with 10lb braid and 6-8lb fluoro... Don't know why...
So I tied that Sebile knot about 6 six times on 30 and 50lb braid with 8, 12, and 15lb FC. It was a very time consuming knot to tie and I'd think it would be tough on a rocking boat or in the wind. Also, I only got it to hold (sort of) once with the 15lb FC... And that probably wouldn't have lasted through a hookset and a fight with a decent fish. I'll stick with the Alberto Knot. BB

Thanks for posting the your results Anthony. It's definitely a very time consuming knot.
I tied it the first few times with 60lb mono and 40lb braid, and seemed to hold very well. When I switched to 20lb braid, and 10 and 8 pound fluoro, it didn't work nearly as well, and only got about 50/50 of them to hold. I'll stick with the Alberto too. lol
