baby brush hog

I really want to start trying the baby brush hog. what size hook and weight do you guys use? whats your favorite color?

A texas rig green pumpkin baby brush hog on a 3/16oz bullet weight was a big producer for me when I first getting into fishing. Rig em on a 2/0 or 3/0 gamakatsu EWG hook. Fish em just like worm, or you con flip and pitch em with a 1/2 bullet weight, I've even had luck fishing them weightless, and some folks like em as jig trailers... very versatile bait.

I've never had the same luck with a standard brush hog.. but they work well too.

btw, if you like multi species baits.. caught a bullhead on one this afternoon, lol.

I agree with the gama 2 0r 3/0 t-rigged. If you are fishing stained water try the blue saphire and black berry colors, it works awesome in the mississippi down here.

I run a 4/0 Gama G-Lock on all my baby brush hogs.

Those are definitely solid, tried and true methods. I could only add using it on the drop shot. Just make sure line and rod are suitable to the cover you're going to face.

2-3 ought hook, weight size depends on how thick the mat is in my opion. thicker the mat, heavier the weight.

Baby Brush Hogs are one of the best jig trailers going. I also flip and pitch them on a 4/0 hook and carolina rig them on a 3/0 hook. I have several favorite colors but in the muddy water here on Grand Lake Bullfrog is tough to beat.

I use the Alluring Version of this bait, favorite color is Watermelon Purple Swirl, in the Zoom I like the PBand J.
The smaller one (4.5 inches) works great on a Slider Jig Head, DEADLY, one of my main go to baits.

The 6 inch I like to thorw on a 1/2 ounce football jig head, with the spring up front to screw the plastic on and hook it weedless

2/0 Round bend off set hook and 1/8 oz weight in green pumpkin is my favorite. I do like the super hog with same hook but 3/8 oz TT Flippin' wt or Strike Kings version. A little bigger profile keeps most of the smaller bass away.

have done well just c rig drifting down middle of a cove fishing out of back of boat. Watermelon red has worked for me.

I use a 4/0 Gammie EWG superline hook with a 1/4 oz weight. Blackberry, blueberry, candybug, watermelon candy, and black sapphire are some of my favorite colors.

I've had alot of success with this lure with many different presentations. I've C-rigged it with a 3/8 to 1/2oz weight, depending on situations, I've flipped/pitched it with 1/2oz bullet weights, and T-rigged it all with great success. It's pretty endless haha, and I've always used a 3/0 EWG hook.
