My dad and I got the chance to shore fish a very small private lake for a couple hours saturday. This lake is almost 40 years old and strictly C&R only. It has a sandy bottom and was quite weedy in the shallow areas.
We fished some, my dad with a t-rigged 7" Powerworm and be switching back and forth from a jig to the Junebug Trigger-X worms from my Secret Santa to my good ole YUM Dinger. My dad nailed the first fish, a solid 2.5lb fish. ![]() We kept fishing and I quickly hooked up with the second fish. Another 2.5lb fish. They were almost identical in size (not bad if that's the average size for the lake!). Since we only had my phone for a camera, I was left to take my own picture... My first decent fish of the year, compliments of the 5" Watermelon Candy YUM Dinger: ![]() We got a couple more hits before the friend of ours (who was our way in to the private lake) had to go. ![]() We haven't been fishing nearly enough this year, so it was fun to get out especially since it wasn't 90-something degrees. I'm still hoping we'll be able to go back to this lake, as there have been numerous documented 20+ inch fish come out of it. BB

Bout time you got on the water. I was starting to wonder hahahahaha. Nice haul man, it does feel good to get on the water after a long stint. And it's like riding a bike, the mechanics spring back quick.

It's good to know that you and your dad were able get out and do some fishing. Those are some good looking bass too.
