Last year I would have said the Lake Fork Tackle tube craw in blue/black, caught allot of fish with it, not so much this year. This year when the going got tough, I almost always reached for a swimjig.

Up until this year it would have been a jig but this year I have had so much luck with a square billed crankbait that I would have to give it a slight edge over a jig.

I really don't think in terms of a go to lure as much as a go to outfit. If I have GOT to catch a fish I will tie on something very small and natural and throw it on clear 4 lb line with a very sensitive light action spinning rod and a 500-1000 series reel.

5" weightless Texas rigged senko or similar knockoff. I really like the YUM Dinger but have been using Net Craft's version as I've gotten about 6-7 packs on sale for $2.09 each.

For me it has to be a 3/8 oz. white spinnerbait with a silver colorado/gold willow combo on the blades. Thats my confidence lure.

![]() This spring and early summer it had to be a jig and lipless crank.
