Wow..............
Hiya chaps, hows the fishing over there?
I'm struggling to get out at the moment, I'm either too busy at home or just ain't got the 'up and go' Anyway as it's bragging board I may as well have brag, Feast your eyes on these 1oz beauty's, and the best part is they're all Mine!!!! They're actually made by the same chap that repainted the SSR14 for me a while back. And on top of that i've treated myself to a okuma calera baitcaster...... that should arrive tomorrow, so I might do a 'out the box/first impressions review'.. They might just get me back out again braving the cold.......who knows

NICCCEEEEE MAKK!!!! those look wodnerful man. i hope they land oyu some great fun in the near future.
jsut courious, when does spring time usually hit over there? i mean by "normal" standards we are having a VERY mild winter. which means either we are gonna be able to hit the water in early march or at the lastest mid march. but we usually have lots of storms when we have a mild winter like this. how about there? are you having a mild winter compaired to normal?

Beautiful*********I don't see many spinnerbaits with painted blades anymore....I like to paint my blades 1/2 green 1/2 white, makes a decent bluegill imitator

Nice spinnerbaits. really cool paint and skirts.
And I'm curious about the weather too. I've been too busy to fish, argh. But I have a tournament the 28th this month and hopefully might sneak to a pond before then, has been nice weather but workin way too much.

Spring occurs round April, for us here in the UK, we do have a closed fishing season for the rivers and other places,
Taken from the EA website..... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coarse fish close season Close season dates, and where it applies. Rivers, streams and drains (and some canals and stillwaters) The statutory coarse fish close season applies between 15 March and 15 June (inclusive). It applies on all rivers, streams and drains in England and Wales, and to some canals and some stillwaters. Canals and stillwaters There is no close season on most canals and most stillwaters. However there are some exceptions where the close season does apply. Some stillwater Sites of Special Scientific Interest Some canals Most waters in the Norfolk Broads Club or fishery (non-statutory) close seasons Where the statutory coarse fish close season has been removed, fishery owners and angling clubs are free to introduce a close season if they wish to. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I do hope it makes sense, It might seem odd because of where we actually are, you might have a closed season that differs to ours. and also does it go by which state your in? other than that the okuma did turn up and first impressions are promising. A first impressions review is up on my blog. clicky

Thanks Makk.
I enjoyed the blog! Yes seasons are different from state to state. Most of our regulations are State specific. We even have different states that bodies of water, rivers or lakes, that touch both states shores and mid river or mid lake, the rules change.

Makk, I don't know who the guy is you're getting your baits from, but the man does good work! So do you have black bass over there or are you fishing for something else. I know from posting at a couple UK-based forums that a lot of guys in your country use freshwater black bass gear for sea bass...

I'm unsure on whether we have freshwater bass over here, as far as i can gather we did have some stocked by a few US servicemen somewhere in the past when the second world war was off, But I really am unsure if they are still there ............ I believe lure chucking over here in the UK is becoming more popular, and many folk I know do order from the states, as you guys have a vast array of lure fishing tackle.

I get the impression from my contacts at fishing-forum.info and here-fishyfishy.co.uk that if there are any bass, they're quite rare, and that most lure-slinging over there is done for pike, sea bass, zander, and European chub.

all I can source is that they were introduced in the past, & that possibly the colder UK climate is a factor in why they were not able to spread nationwide. hence they are found in the warmer climates such as southern france, greece, and the states over there. & again as far as I'm aware you have ticked all but one of the boxes there in what species are specifically targeted with lures, (European perch are a predatory species that are caught on lures.) I've not yet caught a zander or chub on lures or any other method so they're on the list for 2012. Alex,

I remembered the perch right after I hit submit and I was too lazy to edit the post... Several of the guys on the here fishy forum are big fans of perch. As for the bass, I knew they were in France, Italy, Spain, southern Germany, Portugal, and Greece. My wife is from Brasil and they do really well down there. In the state of São Paulo they've introduced largemouth, Guadalupe, shoal, smallmouth, and spotted bass. The largemouth and Guadalupes have become established and done well there.
