Im still a little shaky,hahaha
After a couple of years of researching kayak fishing I finally pulled the trigger!

The manager at Mariner Sails here in Dallas gave me a solid deal I couldnt pass up,plus full warranty...I was in there (for the first time) just checking out accessories and what not...I told him what kayak I was thinking of buying in my price range...After some chit chat,his head snapped up and said ''Hey'' come check this out....It just so happened to be the one of the Kayaks on my wish list

2012 Wilderness System Ride 115 (only used for one day

The guy bought it,and return it due to being too heavy..The manager said he wasn't even a fisherman and didnt understand why he bought it in the first place...and I dont care!

Cause all I know is Im picking it up Saturday...Not crazy bout the camo color,but I fix that with some decal trim.
Adjustable sliding seat position,standing platform,locking hatches,t-tracks in the gunwales...Im pumped!!
...Im gonna rig the living **** out of this thing!

Awesome WJ. You will have alot of fun just rigging it. I just hope you get out of that thing long enough to build me a rod when I decide to pull the trigger.

Congrats! And, welcome to the kayak fisherman's club. I know you'll love fishing from it. In certain lakes in my home area, I actually enjoy fishing from my 'yak more than the bass boat. I do think you need to do a tiger wrap on the paddle.........................heeheheheheehehe.

Thanks again guys...Their actually doing a rigging seminar on fishing kayaks Saturday from 12-1pm...So Im gonna go check that out since one of the kayak is a Ride.

....Plus free hotdogs....and Im a slut for hot dogs.

Kenneth I love me a good progression photo album....So Ill take plenty of pics of what I do once I start figuring out what will work.

I plan on keeping it as simple as Ill allow myself

.....I see alot of kayaks that just look 'messy' with all the things they try to carry with them..Looks like they're fighting a fish over a picket fence!

Oh well, on to the business at hand, way to go on the new Yak. Rigging is a very fun part, but I might recomend not to go overboard too much until you have fished a couple times out of it. The great thing about kayak rigging is it is so personalized. Me, I have personalized almost every bit of value out of my floating municiple garbage can. I've drilled, sawed, melted, filled, redrilled it so many times it is and can only be my kayak. It has all homebuilt accesories for the most part, I'm really proud of using a retractable dog leash anchor system. But it works pretty well for me. The one problem is that I tend to overload it with gear and lug around the lake sometimes. I'm thinking of building outriggers though, also would let me stand so I could flip and pitch. I miss flipping. At some point I will upgrade to a yak like what you have there, and proceed to destroy *customize* that as well.

Buying a system when I pick it up Saturday....Its a system similar to the Malone handi rack...But a Mariner sails brand.

Wont be good for highways most likely,but for short distances it'll work for now.
