I love this time of year.
NO, not because the fishing is good. IT's TOMATOES - fresh, red, vine ripened, juicy tomatoes. I absolutely love the home grown - or better yet, the Amish home grown that are available close by and reasonable in price, tops in quality. Must be the Amish horse sh!t, but whatever the reason they are tasty as it's prime season here. I just ate a tomato & cheese sandwich and I want more, but I'm being good. I love them in sandwiches (even with bacon or other meat), salads are so much better with them, and I even have them plain as a side with dinner, or lightly grilled with a little motzarella cheese on top. Don't anyone mention fried tomatoes or tomato gravy - that's such a travesty to use great tomatoes in that way, I don't like them that way, if you do - just please keep it to yourself. Yes, that was good.....................

Did somebody say Tomato's ?? We're so serious about them where I live, we dedicate a festival to them every summer! If you ever got to eat a real Bradley Pink, you'de make the pilgrimage back here every June.

Man, there are not too many things better than a fresh, home grown tomato.

Add some bacon and endive, and I'm there.

Those delicious balls of goodness. I lov'em! And they are good for you too!!! I buy mine loaclly grown at the farmers market because I suck at growing them. I can grow healthy plants, but the fruits are always splitting open before ready to pick. I love tomato slices on my pizza!!!
