98 here, heat indez at 104. I am certainly glad I did not go down to the Potomac for a long weekend, that would have be brutal. I was going as my wife is in Florida until Tuesday visting friends and a baby shower - ugh - but it's too hot to be on the water at mid-day.

I can always dress for cold weather. Nothing you can do about this heat and humidity except stay inside and hope the AC doesn't fail. The same way you guys don't know how we survive winters, I don't know how you guys deal with triple digit temps. I don't like it when it gets over 75. It's been 80s and 90s here lately, which is miserable as far as I'm concerned. I'm looking forward to lows in the 50s tonight!

Once you get a good wet skin it aint so bad..
Have you ever wondered why the people of the sahara desert wear headgear and long sleeves?

Well the mosture from your skin wicks into the light layers and creates a cooling effect. At first it is hot like Topeka and then as you relax it becomes nice.

I really like this weather. Have 4 trips this week..

and two cases of gatoraid will be my salvation by next Monday. And AC at night.

Sorry fellas, I feel for you...I don't miss that mid-West/deep South heat and humidity! Miss the area, but not that!

I feel you guys i live in southern Indiana and it was 109 today. I work for pepsi and our wharehouse is not cooled. It was a blistering 137 in our wharehouse today. Needless to say i feel like Augusta Bush will be getting my money this weekend.

And not relief in sight. Last two days were in the hgh 90's, this morning the 7-day forcast had the predicted high at 90+ for the next week. That's nuts, this is southeast PA, until the turn of the century it was rare for us to see 10 days above 90 all summer, now nearly 10 days in a row and the "Dog Days" are still a long way off. I hate the heat, more than cold, so it's going to be EARLY morning fishing and off the water by 9 am. Last night at 11 PM is was still 88 and the freakin' humidity reminds me of Florida. But you guys in the south and midwest are getting it worse than we are - you have my sympathy!

Yep, today is going to suck. High of 98, 70% humidity.....and I'm playing at a wedding reception 7-11pm......outside. Supposed to still be 94 when we start, down to 80 by 11.
Whose idea was this, anyway? An outdoor reception, in late June, in Mississippi?

Oh how i wish i could just pack up and move to the West coast. I would not want to be anywhere close to a big city, but I sure would like the temps there a lot better than here.

Before living out here I use to hate going to Wichita, Joplin, Springfield, or Tulsa...they were all big cities to me, LOL. I don't like city life and I hate the traffic, the territory comes with the job though

I hope you all find some sort of reprieve from the heat though!

It's easy dealing with heat, shorts and a T-shirt and lots of water. Once it gets cold and I've got tons of cloths on it gets hard to move and the fishing all but shuts down. I can fish when the water temps get high, hard to find a sinker heavy enough to break through ice Don't do any ice fishing, we're kind of right on the boarder of safe ice every year it seems like and we're limited on species of fish that can be caught through the ice.

I hate soggy shorts and shirts unless they're worn by a well constructed female. Oh, I'm sorry, I guess you meant DRINKING water, my bad.
