Re: iowa
I live in Eastern Iowa and regularly fish several small lakes (Iowa,Hawthorn,Belva Deer,Darling,Wapello,Macbride,Sugema,Pleasant Creek) and the Mississippi River.
Were you looking for any specific lake or river pool info? |

Re: iowa
I use most of the popular techniques to catch bass on the Mississippi, depends on the time of year, river conditions, etc. I throw a lot of cranks, jigs, plastics, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits.
I usually look for deeper water holding areas and work from those areas outward towards shallower waters nearby and will find bass holding somewhere in the area. Rocks that provide a current break on or near the channel are always a good bet, as well as current breaks provided by shoreline grasses. Some of the backwater areas in the Northern pools of the Mississippi River here in Iowa have some outstanding fishable waters, lots of nice smallies to be had if you know where to find them. |
