LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 84 degrees; 1017.36' :
Largemouth are fair to good early along dropoffs of ledges in 4'-10' using Blue Shad Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com) spinnerbaits, a green Photon crankbait (www.photonlures.com) and 6" motor oil Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) on wacky rigs on a 3/0 "K" Whacky Hook (www.falconlures.com). Striped Bass are only fair in 28'-35' from Red Rock to the dam mainly drifting live bait but trolling white/chart. Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) and jigging Pirk Minnows on the bottom will produce a fish or two. Topwater activity is limited to the first 30 minutes of daylight. Rat-L-Traps and plastic swim baits work as well as anything. To book a guided trip for Striper Bass or Largemouth contact JR's Guide Service (www.jrguideservice.com). Call (830) 833-5688 or email jimfish@moment.net. |
