I have a friend who has a mysterious outboard problem that the local guy can't figure out. I thought maybe someone on here has seen this problem.
Motor starts fine, idles fine, and runs perfect up to exactly 2500 rpms then the motor jerks around like an anchor rope is rapped around the prop. Anyone? |

LANCE,
Take it to a different mechanic with the diagnostic equipment to find the problem. It could be in the carburetor or fuel pump, it could be in the computer or ignition. It is hard to diagnose the problem without having the motor right here. First guess would be a plugged high speed jet in the carb. JackL |

I used the boat again tonight, and it worked perfect.
Maybe someone cut the anchor rope, or it might have been the water mocassin I found in the splash well. Still very much alive, but maybe a little dizzy from going round and round. More importantly, we caught fish. Thanks for the help so far. |
