Five Fridays? Five Fridays? Maybe in Bizzarro World. Perhaps in some strange parrallelllllllllllll Universe but not where I'm at. Press secretary Jay Carney says it's just in response to a tasteless video. Everyone knows what a straight shooter he is. A tiskit a tasket a creamy yellow basket.

Heck, I'm RETIRED so I have nothing but Saturdays on my calendar. 365 SATURDAYS and every 4th year, that's right a BONUS SATURDAY.

YA IT'S AN URBAN LEGEND.

Any 31-day month that begins on a Friday will have five Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The last time this happened was October 2010; the next time (after July 2011) will be March 2013. It won't happen again in the month of July until 2016 — but even that's only five years away.

I guess it's back to JOKES.
You dang people ARE way to quick!

Ya the calendar I believe is a Chinese calendar.

Anyway hope everyone has the very best day they possible can!

Sorry, Joe. Sadly, it isn't true. Five Fri-Sat-Sun happens in some month once per year on average.

Obviously, it can only happen in one of the months with 31 days; i.e. if the first day of a 31-day month is Friday. Logically, this should happen once every 7 years on average for each month, with a couple of twists:

In non-leap years, January and October calendars are identical (all of the other 31-day month calendars are different).

In leap years, January and July's calendars are identical (all of the other 31-day month calendars are also different).

So there is definitely a 28-year cycle in which each of the seven 31-day months has a "five Fri-Sat-Sun" 4 times.

Yes, I know I am a nerd...but calendar math can be a lot of fun. I am always amazed by the people who can tell you what day of the week any particular date fell on. I was watching "Forrest Gump" once with a friend, and at the "she died on a Tuesday" scene, he tilted his head for a second and said "hey...that's wrong...the date on her tombstone isn't a Tuesday". I laughed my arse off over that. I'm sure it never even entered the filmmakers' minds that someone would check it, and so easily.
