Shaky head

I think this year for bass fishing im going to start using the shaky head. How much luck have you had on it.

It's one of my go-to baits. I will always have a shaky head tied on. I've won tournaments on just fishing it.

I really like the Spot Remover jighead. It is flat on one side and has a keeper that the head of the bait goes on. The flat side keeps the bait vertical and waving in the fish's face. I highly recommend this jighead for a shakey head.

I fish it on a MH action spinning rod with 30 lb Powerpro braid and an 8lb-same diameter as the Powerpro-fluorocarbon leader.

I've used zoom trick worms, and strike king 3x fineness worms the most for shaky heading; and with great results! Used to fish a shaky head all the time when the fishing got slow, always seemed to coax a few bites, especially after a texas rig or jig bite slowed down. Get some good quality heads, and few different worms to try out and throw em on a nice spinning combo! It's a great little technique! Even caught some big 'uns going it!

I prefer fluorocarbon to mono or braid for the shaky head -- due to it's density! I'll throw the worm out let it sink to the bottom on a semi slack line (watch the line as it sinks for anything that might spell fish!). Once it reaches the bottom I'll just let it sit for a few seconds. Than start shaking it. Not a tight line though. That'll cause the worm to move to far along the bottom. Get a slight bow in your line and start shaking the rod tip just a little bit. Give it a sec and shake it again. If you still havn't got a bite, slowly raise the rod a foot or so to move the worm a few feet. Continue shaking and raising till you bring the worm back to you or a fish hits! When you do get a bit, let some slack in your line, give it a second or 4, tighten the line till you feel the fish and set to the hook!

I usually use a 1/8 oz head, but will move up to 3/16 oz if I got some wind, or the water's deeper..

I've been doing good lately shaky heading a MAGNUM Zoom Trick Worm on 1/2 oz head. Certainly not a finesse technique but seems these SC winter female bass just want to eat once or twice a week and prefer a bait with some mass and GIRTH

One I'm going to use this year will be the Owner Shakey Worm 6.5".
Baby floats , dont see me using a worm that wont float with a shakey head.

Every time I use one, I catch fish on it but I don't use it enough. This year I'm concentrating on it.
