Try this: Rig up a Texas rig
http://www.bassfishingusa.com/rigging/rigging1.html Except do not use any weight. Throw it in and around cover, and work it with gentle twitches if the rod tip. Let it sink, twitch it, and let it sink. Work it back to you doing this, but watch your line. If it starts tightning up or moving off to the side or feels "heavy", set the hook. You often won't feel a hit, so watch your line.

Don't leave them on your hook out of the water-they dry out and you lmost need a hammer and chisel to get them off once they are dried out. That's why I don't use the Gulp baits.

I use Zoom or Yum more than any. You can find Zoom baits just about anyplace that has tackle. WalMart is probably the most often mentioned.

Depends on the situation-for flooded timber I always have a crank tied on. Since you fish for walleyes there is a lot of crossover to bass fishing-a lot of the same baits will work for both, just different tactics. The key to a crankbait is contact-make sure it hits something. One of my favorite crankbait tactics is to fish a bait that runs deeper than the water I am fishing so it digs into the bottom kicking up a mud trail.

if your fishing erie for walleye , you are fishing in the best smallmouth lake in the world ... erie is loaded with huge smallies ... this time of year ,just find a rock pile in 25 to 30 feet of water ,and drop a tube bait down to them ,and hang on .

ive heard stories that my uncle told me about lake erie he caught so many smallmouth and his arm was so sore from fighting them that he wished they would quit biting. like everyone else said drop a tube or tiki stick on a heavy dropshot rig. or a heavy jig.
