Default What the ....?

Last night I was at my friends house and we took 5 light action rods and hooked them up with small hooks and hot dogs to catch some bullheads. With a light rod its a lot of fun catching 2# and 3# bullhead every couple of seconds, and they fight pretty well.

Anyways it was probably about midnight when my little brothers tiny zebco spincaster(that I brought without askin him) doubles over and I set the hook. I feel the thing and I think its a friggin gator, it is just peeling out so much drag and just ripping through the water. Then I see it jump and I about soiled myself it was a huge a** bass leaping out of the water. I finally land the thing and unhook it. My biggest bass to date, estimated by me and my friend to be 10lbs. I've caught a number of 7 and 8 pound bass and had them weighed, but this was easily a few pounds heavier than any of those I had ever caught. It didn't have the typical sagging gut of a lunker but this was the looooongest bass I had ever seen anyone catch. I just thought it was kind of funny, I catch my biggest bass ever on a piece of hot dog, 6lb test line, and an ultra-lite rod.

I almost forgot to mention, I was giddy as a school girl after catching it. I could've died right then and there and been happy.

Unfortunately no. I thought we would just catch some bullhead that night nothing special, not worth wasting film on. We even said that to eachother when we caught it... its a shame.

A friend and I were once catfishing in a small farm pond with cut up bream. His bobber shot under and we were really confused when he lifted a 3# bass on to the bank. I could understand if the bass was starving and skinny but this bass looked healthy.

I think thatprobably would have killed the fish. It was deep hooked so we had to pull the hook through and clip the line and then pull the line back through the back of its throat. By that time the bass had been out of the water longer than it should have been and I needed to revive it in the water. Sure it was a nice bass, but I wouldn't want to kill something that big just for a picture. Also being that I live in fl I'm sure I will catch a bass of bigger or equal size before too long.

If you go N on 434 it turns left, go down about 1/2 mile past winter springs high school and there is a gated community on your right. My friend lives in there and I caught the bass out of the pond near the main entrance.

Thats Something. My Biggest Bass Was When I Was Really Little I Caught It On A Dumb Little Black Boddied Yellow Tailed Grub. Thats A Shame You Didnt Have A Camera Or I Might Believe You. Lol Jk, I Believe You. One Time I Was Fishing All Day On The River I Mean All Day. I Caught 5 Bass All Day. I Come Into To Put The Boat On The Trailer. I Threw Almost Everything I Had. And There Is This Old Couple That Caught Two Really Nice Sm In Like 5 Min. On Nightcrawlers From The Bank. That Was A Kick In The Guts. Congrats Hulapopr

ain't that something. I occasionally hear of bass taken on cut meat. I've heard of hotdogs, bolgna, and salami. The few bass I've heard of taken this way all tend to be above average size as well.

last weekend I spent the entire day at a remote lake in the Ocala NAtional Forest. After 8 hours on the water, tired and wore out from the florida sun, I paddle to shore. There is a guy fishing as I pull up, we start talking, sure enough, he caught 3 bass all 1-3 pounds on BREAD! I threw everything I could think of using conventional, and non-conventional wisdom to select the lure only to get skunked. This guy throws bread out to catch bream and he's rewarded with BASS, all 3 were caught within 10 minutes. I spent 8 hours. Sometimes the Bass just don't treat me fairly.
