Default first time

Jb let me use one of his baitcasters at the pond lastnight,it was differnet. But
I like the challenge,I think I did very well for using such a diff. kinda of fishing outfit besides a spincast outfit.Pitching and flipping is a fine sport Jb was kind
enuff to let me borrow one of his outfits so I will practice alot and most likely
go buy one.I think once I get dialed in on the brake and thumb marriage thing
I'll be in flin.Jb had a killer jig/craw set up on there.I loved being able to feel the line and really have contact with the bottom, one one the best thing is always
being able to have afinger up against the line to detect bites

Default Alright Denny!!

So you now know how to use a baitcaster. I though tyou used one all along LOL. I use my caster a lot. I like how you can feel everything on the line. BTW, If I can suggest a reel I would suggest the Rhino RBC300. It has 10 magnetic brakes, and has a drag that if you tighten down acts like a warn winch!! Definitley my favorite caster yet!

He really did well using it, esp since he is used to a left handed reel, all mine are right handed, I am left handed by nature and was telling him that most right handed bass anglers cast with their right and switch over to the left to hold the rod.

As I was showing him about the jig, one hit his jig and the line came right for the boat lol

why are some people so down on spincasting reels? I've never quite figured it out. It is it because thats what you got as your "first pole" and when we get older, we gotta use what the big boys use or what? I know they aren't as flashy and tricked out as baitcasters or spinning reels, but why don't more people want to use them?

Sorry, know this isn't on topic with the post, but I thought it was relevant.

Anyway, I have never tried a baitcaster, I think I'd screw up and get a birds nest every time, although I love the on top reels more than the spinning reels.

I don't think anyone is down on them or don't want to use them, it is just that baitcasters are more durable and able to stand up to rough use. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using them.

Zook,
I now use my casters more than my spinning rod, but some techniques are just best done on a spinning rod. I love how casters feel more natural in the pallm of my hand!

Default thanks

thanks Zooker..It will be diff.Ive been practicing pitching and flipping to the shrubs infront of my house.I like it,prob the most I will use a baitcaster will be to
pitch and flip and that's about it..well let me take that back I would like to use them on topwater to feather the bait gently into the water...so p&f and topwater..Im excited. The only thing that I have ever had this much passion for
as far as a hobby is my drumming and I have always pushed myself to the fullest
to learn and to be the best and well rounded that I can be ,well I want to do that for my fishing.I can play anything on my drums and I want to be able to fishing anything on the water.......Im very patient
