I was wondering if i could get some help. I recently bought a bleeding jig made by strike king, its on thier website : http://www.strikeking.com/catalog/ca..._page_29.shtml
What would be the best way to work this bait? The bass seem to show no interest; in shallow water ive watched them swim close to the bait and just ignore it. Ive also seen this school of bass ignore my shrimp bait, plastic crab bait, as well as a live grasshopper bait. Some help would be much appreciated, Thanks. PS: i live in South Carolina, and fish a small lake with alge covered bottom. |

I catch most of my fish with them bouncing them off the bottom. But if you can find an area with a rock bottom you can mimic a crawfish by hopping it allong the bottom. You arent going to get a hit on those crab and shrimp lures unless your fishing brackish water. If all fails you can go with some live minnows or some big nightcrawlers

I find jigs work best around flooded timber, steep rocky banks, or in real heavy weeds. Sometimes fish just don't want what we are throwing-sounds like that is what happened to you. The best way to work it is to throw it out, let it sink, and work it back by raising the rod tip, let the bait fall, and repeat. What I would use this time of year is a soft jerkbait like a Zoom Super fluke or a Tiki Stick.

hey the only i use jigs is bouncing them on the bottom. those fish ignored it because your supposed fish it shallow. make sure when a jig dont set the straight up, instead jerk it to the side, alot of they will get off hooking up
