The fishing picked up a tad today, still getting them on the fluke over 8 feet of water, but today my biggest fish came from a tikki stick (looks like motor oil) but they call it watermelon red flake,
Hooked her wayyyyy to late and got the hook stuck in the gullet, cut it off and let her go. The fluke got some big strikes, lots of fun for about 6-7 fish, all about the size you see the bassmasters classic on tv, about 12 inches. Watching that on tV sure brings back memories of fishing the Ohio, over that way, you find so many 11 7/8 inch fish that just dont measure to a keeper size of 12.... Looks like the leader board keeps changing, last time I saw it was 12 lbs total for the lead, sounds typical for this time of year, NO CURRENT kills river fishing, Lizards probably has found that out downstream , the river can be tough, and HOT~ |

I think they get more time to check out the lure than dodging out when theres a big current and hitting.
Plus they pull off the regular structure, which makes it hard to figure out where they are out, With a good current you can spot the eddys, and target them. Guess a guy could always drop shot a bridge piling and just wait it out LOL |
