We just got back from a different pond , we have hit it maybe 6 times now, nice and mowed down, but the black flying bugs still buggin'..
Started out with several small ones on the fluke , thought it was going to be an active night, even if they were small, each fish was about 9 feet off the bank, probably in 5 ft of water. What hurt us tonight we NO WIND, man I mean calm as can be! this pond is pretty new, 4-5 years old, a few nice fish in it and one big un' but generally full of lots of 8-12 inch bass, in a few years it will be killer! got tired of flukin' so I put on the tikki and got hit after hit, but no size. Denny got a few on the craw but about hour ago they just disappeared, we both agree'd to call it a night, Hope ya all had a better catch than us,, its AUGUST LOL ....dog dayzs ![]() |

I agree, quite hot out. I went out twice. This mornin missed 4 on the frog, 2 on popper, 1 on 4inch tiki. Then this afternoon, missed 1 at the resivoir, gin clear water. Then went to a pond 5mins from the resivoir. Got one on the 4 inch tiki. Dinker thats it no size to him. O well, had lots of fun and some sunburn!

ya, we are averaging about 105 everyday. there is just no point for me going unless its really early or late. im a bank fisherman, and with this heat the fish are deep, so bassically there isnt a point to fish during the day. i will just sit there and sweat. and i do go out there sometimes, but i havnt been catchin nothin. im lookin forward to winter, i can catch more bass in the winter cold, then in the summer heat. my favorite time is spring.

We have been hitting it about 5:30 till 8ish, still catching fish, but I'll call 4 a good night now adays...
The water is really starting to lower, we havent had much rain and the water is super clear, you can see mounds of hydrilla and it really gives you a dif perspective on how the fish position them selfs to the sun........ ![]() |
