I've heard mixed reviews on that kind of rod. The biggest complaint I have heard is that if you bring in anthing on your like like moss it can clog up.

What about using a bore cleaner or pipe cleaner, or even putting some screen from the window on it?

Chum, I have a Pinnacle Pinnacle made Cabelas rods. In my opinion, I would not buy another rod after owning one.You need the cable threader to thread line through the rod, which is not always with the rod, The rod had good feel but depending on what lb test line you used determined whether it casted well or not.The reel seat of the handle busted out of the first one and they replaced it with another rod , but they sent me a Medium action instead of a heavy like the original rod was because the Pinnacle rods were discontinued, Cabeleas series were the only innerline series Silstar was going to make. Silstar company is who owns Pinnacle.I have got a $129.99 Pinnacle Titanium innerline I can sell you for a whole lot less money if your interested ?

I can see using one of these rods in heavy cover baitcasting conditiuons in some of the places I fish. As far as using the spinning model I would think they would be a REAL pain is the $#@ to use especially if you get several wraps of line to come off at once . I also see a disadvantage to getting any distance on the spinning model do to the friction of the line going through a guide before entering the rod.

That rod was originally designed and tested here in East Tennessee. It was pioneered by a pro named Dwayne Horton. It was designed as a flipping stick. I have an original one. It is a great flipping stick. It is very good as a flipping stick. It is also very sensative. It should make a good worm jig rod in the 6 ot 6.5 length. The one I have which was custom made 6 or 7 years ago is a 7.5. The point someone made about moss or algea getting clogged might be a good point. I have not had that problem but I can see how that could happen. They run those on sale every once in a while. I think I saw them for 49 or 59 back last winter. I paid 150 for the one I had made. For the money I would try it if I were you. Fish2win

The retrieve ratio on the Pfluger is better than the Diawa. The 3.7 on the Diawa is way to slow for this type rod. I like a spinning reel that is between 4.7and 5.1. The 4.6 on the Diawa may be Ok for you. Fish2win
