Since its pretty much raining constantly today through wednesday here in Kentucky...I figured I'd whip out a pole and practice something..so I was reading about pitching and flippin, and decided to try. I discovered that I'm not that bad at all with flippin, haven't tried pitchin yet. I always saw the guys doin it on TV and stuff and thought "man, that looks kinda hard to do", but it didn't really seem that hard at all. Just get the bait moving back towards me then raise the rod tip and let go of the line in my hand, and voila. I was putting it right where I wanted it 15-20 feet away. I definitely need to keep practicing because sometimes the bait will fly up into the air and then come down, other times it will not go far at all. My guess is that when it flies up into the air, I'm not releasing the line early enough and smooth enough..and when it doesn't go far enough I'm not giving a good enough flick with my wrist or something.
Sorry guys, just a gloomy old rainy day here and I'm bored. |
