allright i bought this trollin motor its a few yrs old but for sum reason it will run but then it will stop all of a sudden we thinnk it mite have a short in it sumwhere but im not sure i dont know much bout electric motors...i bought a new switch for it that didnt help i took it all apart ...that didnt work..and now im out of ideas please help if u can!

I have heard of rheostat problems for the speed control. Are you using the foot control or transom mount? The battery is good, no circuit breaker?
I got one about 25+ years old earlier this year and took it apart and replaced all the bad stuff. Never had a problem after that. |

its a transom mount but not ciruit breakers i dont think

fishermans friend in kanappolois fix it right up for ya. unless it is unsavable.. they should have a couple moters for sale -did last time i was there.. zooker

check and clean ALL of the connectors/connections. Amazing what a little corrosion can do.
