up here were i live alot of these upground reservoirs do not freeze in the winter which is a good thing for me!! But when i do fish the waters in the winter, the main res. i fish has tons of rocks, so i either throw a 1/4-1/2 ounce pig n jig or a texas rigged curly tail worm with a 3/8 ounce bullet sinker. Both methods are very productive in the winter time. What ever you try, work your presentation slow!! If you think you going slow enough, go even slower. By the time late feburary comes around (in ohio) they begin to hit the chartreuse/white spinnerbait. Good Luck and I hope this helps!

What Zooker said-if you post your location it will help.
Now as to your question, it really depends on the water temp. 60 down to 50 I like a crankbait, a spinnerbait, a suspending jerkbait, and a jig-n-pig. When the water hits about 50 I use a suspoending jerkbait and a jig-n-pig with a pork, not plastic trailer. The pork stays softer in the colder water. Below 50 I add a jigging spoon or Little George. As the water cools the fish start to migrate from the shallows toward deeper water, so I look for ledges, dropoffs, etc and start shallow and work deeper. The colder the water, the slower you want to work the bait.

Got to be around fish. Also sometimes a Blue fox big crappie spinnerbait slow rolled can produce on sunny days.

1/8 oz hair jig (preferrably buck tail) with a small bass strip(pork) Black and brown or brown and black usually does the trick. Fish2win
