Those are some nice baits, but I have one question.

Does painting the entire lip affect how they look to the bass at all??

No,No what I do is clear coat it on like that then I go back and sand it off. It's just so that I got the hard to reach places. It looks like crap to miss in front of the nose. It cleans up quite well.
