I went to cabela's last wednesday to order a Quantum Energy PT Burner casting reel, and they called me saturday morning informing me that it came in. i went down and picked it up, and it's everything and more. Super smooth, smokin' fast, long casting, just an awesome reel. i've been casting in the yard, it just burns that bait back in. going to throw it on a 7' MH st.croix for frogs, spinnerbait, and all purpose heavy cover. just a sweet reel, the whole energy pt series is amazing, defintely worth checking out.

I know a new rod or reel always makes me feel good, and I for some reason makes me think I'll catch more fish. I know how you feel, keep us posted on how it works for you down the road. I bought a new AiRRUS rod a couple weeks ago, and I have to say that it was worth every penny. The hook set ratio is good, and I like the looks and feel of it. Have fun with your new reel and do keep it clean.

I know some people are superstitious regarding their first cast of the day. As I understand it, the belief is that if they catch a fish on the first cast, they are doomed for the day.
Well, I have a superstition which is that when I get a new rod, it will be difficult to catch my first fish on it. Once I "break the cherry' sort-of-speak, then I will catch many fish. However, it will take a while before I can get that first fish on the new rod. |

Wishin, Every cast I make, whether its the first or the last of the day, I expect to get bit on that cast. It doesn't always happen, but I would like it to.Didn't anyone ever tell you when you use a brand new rod, or reel, you must wash your hands in the lake before you start fishing ?
