Default How to get rid of that "Night Before Christmas" feeling

Well a couple weeks ago it became apparent that I'll be able to buy a new boat in the next couple months. Ever since then I've had that "Night Before Christmas" feeling and I'm afraid the only way to get rid of it is to buy a boat. Arrrggghhhh, I've got things to do between now and then....ESPECIALLY if I want to buy a boat. I can't get crap accomplished if I'm constantly hyped up and looking online at boats. I gotta figure something out.

Robby, Don't worry. As soon as you see the boat for you , you will automatically know it. If you don't get that feeling, don't buy it, you will never be happy with it.P N J

Are you thinking fiberglass or aluminum? Do the places where you buy boats let you try them before you buy? Decisions, decisions. Wish I had your problem.

Fiberglass. Does the Jeep dealership allow you to take a test drive through some mud holes? Then I doubt the boat dealership would let me take a new boat to Rodman, lol. In case you haven't been, its literally a flooded forest.......stumps galore. Actually there are a few places south of here that let you test drive them on Lake Harris, however I'll be buying used.

Rodman your in luck if buying used. You can at least taking it for a "sea trial" as one of you condtions of buying it. With this you can at least get a "feel" for the boat.

Rodman and test drive I doubt it rotfl. Did find another decent spot for a few fish(dad caught the bass on shiners, I caught the mudfish on plastics ). Anyway, keep focused on what you have to do, there will be time for fishing ang fun, after the work is done. Keep at it, and you'll get to where you want to be. Nobody ever said it was easy, unless you were born with the preverbial silver spoon.

what ramp did yall launch out of? if you're gonna keep fishing rodman, I HIGHLY suggest you get a topographical map showing the lake, underwater springs, islands, old river channel, spoil berm, etc. Just a few minutes looking at the map makes it easy to spot some good places that should hold plenty of BIG bass. I've seen the maps in the Sporting Goods Dept. at Wal-Mart in Ocala, Palatka, and I think even St. Augustine, along with a few boating stores. I think it was $10 or 15 bucks, well worth it, its made out of tyvek or some other water proof material. It also shows 20+ fishing hotspots.

Way ahead of you, already got one LOL. We launched out of Kenwood, however we made the treacherous trip a little north, and across the reservoir to the other channel. There's a dock over there off of a point, some guys were fishing of of it, and we were, just south of it, saw lots of boats come through there.
