hey guys this is my 1st post here. I have been using Lew Speed Spools since 1979 and it is almost to find them anymore. I have been thinking about the David Fritts reel. it reads and looks like it might be better. anyone ever use it ? thanks in advance !!

First off welcome to the site. Second the reels where made to fritts recommendations. I havent used one but heard they are okay but not as good as the originals. You can still order direct from the factory ssome of the originals. It takes some begging and pleading but they will get you some if you buy several at a time.

Welcome to the forum!
I haven't used the Fritts reel but have heard good things about it. If you want the actual speed spool take a look at ebay-I'd bet you can find them there.

Welcome,
Please put your location in your profile, helps to know where your fishing for future posts. I thought you were one of the older members at first, but I think he's gone to Sluggoman now. Lizards

Yea I agree with rebbasser. Look on the E-Bay. They have some older Fritts reels as well as some Lews reels from the days back when.

That goes in reference to my long winded post on the signature thread.Bassman had commented as well about the type of reel he prefered.I sold a Lew BB1MG to someone on this site last year, but I cannot remember who it was. That reel had the anti reverse dog instead of the roller bearing. The older Abu Garcia , Quantum reels used the dog/gear system as well as the Lews did.
