Default jigs

ive always heard that you are supposed to bounce jigs off of the bottom of the lake or pond or wherever you are fishing but what if you do not know how deep the water is? so therefore you dont kno how long to let it sink....is there an easy way to tell when the jig has hit the bottom?

Yep-when your line goes slack. It will stay tight while it is sinking but as soon as it hits bottom it goes slack.

Just wait for about 20 to 30 seconds if your ifshing a small pond, but if you fishing a lake and your in the middle of the lake then wait a minute for it to get down there.
